What is the registration fee?

The registration fee is $800 for the entire 4 week program. Partial scholarships are available for eligible participants. Please see the registration page for more information.

 

What is included in the registration fee?

The registration fee includes participation in a 4 week long program especially designed for girls between the ages of 9-14 with instruction in nutrition, counseling and physical activity. All instruction is offered by qualified/certified instructors in each area of concentration. Also included in the registration fee participants will receive a healthy daily lunch, 2 daily snacks, a BOUNCE Lite t-shirt, water bottle, scrapbook, visor etc.

No, it is not refundable once your daughter completes the first week of the summer camp.

 

What can my daughter expect to do at BOUNCE Lite Summer Camp? 

Each day will consist of fun activities where your daughter will interact and socialize with other young girls in the program. She will be led in various physical activities such as hip hop dance, kick boxing, yoga, and self defense. She will participate in daily nutrition classes where she will have the opportunity to help prepare healthy snacks and lunches while learning about healthy eating habits. Our counselor will have many opportunities to discuss the importance of self-esteem, positive body image and goal setting. What should my daughter wear to camp?

Athletic type pants or shorts and tennis shoes. No sandals allowed. Campers are required to wear athletic tennis shoes at all times. If they do not they will be sent home for the day. No jeans or tight clothing will be allowed.

 

Where is camp?

The camp is located at the University of Houston, Department of Health and Human Performance, 3855 Holman, Melcher Gymnasium, Room 227. We will meet in a general area for classroom instruction and in a large gymnasium for physical activity. There will also be instruction outdoors.

 

How many students can attend the camp?

To maintain the optimum student/teacher ratio, we limit our participation to the first 40 students to be accepted. A ratio of eight girls per one instructor will be recognized at all times.

 

What paperwork do parents need to fill out before camp?

Parents need to fill out all the forms on the registration page. The eligibility checklist, the registration and release form, the physical examination form and the medical history form. Parents must have their child's physician fill out the Physical Examination form. All forms may be downloaded on the registration page of this website.

 

Can I contact my daughter while she is in camp?

Campers may bring their cell phone and use them at the end of the day’s activities. If parents have an emergency, please call the main office number at 713-743-9840 and we will get the message to your child immediately. 

 

What if my daughter gets injured during the camp?

We will administer first aid and contact you immediately. If you child is sick she will be sent home.

 

What if my daughter wants to withdraw from the program?

Your daughter will be allowed to withdraw from the program at any time. Please note that your registration fee is non refundable.

 

What if my daughter is being bullied at the camp?

Bullying, disrespecting and other negative behaviors will NOT be tolerated in the camp. Campers who engage in these activities will be dismissed from the program.
